A garden fork plunged into the dead dog at 7 past midnight, a "mystery" suspect and 15 year old autistic Christopher left to discover who killed him. Christopher is determined to reveal the secrets within the neighborhood, but what he doesn't know is that his father, Mr. Boon is the one behind the killing of Wellington the Dog.
Throughout the Story Mr. Boon tells Christopher to stop trying to solve the murder in many different ways. Mr. Boon first warns him after Christopher is kept at the Police station for assaulting a police officer, and first warns Christopher by saying "Just try and keep your nose out of other people's business." on pg 14. Christopher attempts to explain himself but Mr.Boon replies "Leave it." in a rather stern tone, the second time Mr. Boon warns his son is on pg 32 when he specifically tells Christopher what he cannot do, he specifically says;
"OK, Christopher. I am going to say this for the last and final time. I will not tell you again. Look at me when I am talking to you, for God's sake. Look at me. You are not to go asking Mrs. Shears about who killed that bloody dog. You are not trespassing in other people's gardens. You are to stop this ridiculous bloody detective game right now"
The Hounds of Baskerville is referenced to the readers for a reason, and this is so we get an Idea of what we are looking for and what is and can be false information. The connection happening in the book between Christopher and his dad is like the Reference to clue #2 of Hounds of Baskerville on pg 47, where Stapleton tells Watson to stay out of the Grimpen Mire because he is hiding something and doesn't want anyone to find it. In this case the situation is that Mr. Boon doesn't want his son to discover he is the one who killed the dog, Wellington.
In the story, as shown on pg 32; Christopher brought it to the readers attention that Mr. Shears and Mrs. Shears had split up quite a while ago and he becomes Christopher's prime suspect. He tells his dad that someone could have killed Wellington to make Mrs. Shears sad, and that a crime is often committed by someone known. This now gives the Mr. Shears a motive, he could have also had easy access to the shed where the tools are. However this is a red herring because it draws attention away from the fact that Mr. Boon killed wellington, the book is focused on proving Mr. Shears is the killer, and like the second clue for Red Herrings involved in the Hounds of Baskerville shown on pg 47 they suspect the wrong person to be a murderer because of the fact that he did a wrong, like kill someone and escape jail. In this case Mr. Shears is a prime suspect because him leaving shows something happening between him and Mrs. Shears. This also gives him motive.
However recently the readers found out on page 39 from Ms. Alexander the Old lady that lives in unit 39; that Mr. Shears had cheated on Mrs. Shears with Christopher's mother. This now flips the script and also proves that Mr. Shears is not the killer, and this gives Mr. Boon a motive to kill. Some clues that Mr. Boon is in fact the one who killed Wellington is the fact that as seen on pg 32 Christopher says that crime is often committed by someone known, when they say this they mean a character that has already been introduced to the readers. This is something very common in Sherlock Holmes, an example is meeting Stapleton but thinking that the culprit is several different people before the actual reveal; Mr. Boon has been already introduced. The affair also gives Mr. Boon a motive to kill, it would make sense that he kills something that was so close to the man who his wife cheated with. Mr. Boon also is portrayed as an easily irritated or short tempered character, and also mentions that he drinks, this combination does not go well with a dog, and one that could have been very loud. The dog had also been killed at 12:07am quite late but no one knows for sure where Mr. Boon had been, because Christopher had been in his room most of the night. Mr. Boons Occupation requires a lot of emergencies during the night because he does boiling systems and plumbing, so Mr. Boon had definitely been up. Lastly weapon, how did he get the garden fork? Earlier on pg 19 they mention Mrs. Shears putting Mr. Boons head on her bosoms, this could be misinterpreted but most importantly this shows that Mrs. Shears is a very kind person. On pg 19 of the book Christopher talks about Mrs. Shears coming over to comfort them and make dinner, she seems like a very generous neighbor and lending garden tools would be no big deal to her.
Out of all the Characters in the book, Mr. Boon the single father of 15 year old autistic Christopher is the one who had killed Wellington the dog. No one has suspected Mr. Boon but what should be done now is at least for him to tell the complete and total truth to Christopher, and Mrs. Shears on what had happened, because there may not have been a lot to prevent Mr. Boon from committing the crime. Especially, if it was late and he came back from work and decided to have a drink, the dog could have got on his temper.

What song do I relate to?
The song I chose is by a band I grew up listening to and a song I had fairly good memories. I also chose this song because It's on my ipod, and I honestly can't help but to sing too it, it's not an option it's basically automatic. So anyways The song is by Queen and it's titled "Under Pressure"
These are the lyrics:
Pressure pushing down on me
Pressing down on you, no man ask for
Under pressure that burns a building down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming, "Let me out!"
Tomorrow gets me higher
Pressure on people - people on streets
Chippin' around, kick my brains 'round the floor
These are the days - it never rains but it pours
People on streets - people on streets
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming, "Let me out!"
Tomorrow gets me higher, higher, higher...
Pressure on people - people on streets
Turned away from it all like a blind man
Sat on a fence but it don't work
Keep coming up with love but it's so slashed and torn
Why, why, why?
Love
Insanity laughs under pressure we're cracking
Can't we give ourselves one more chance?
Why can't we give love that one more chance?
Why can't we give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love?..
'Cause love's such an old-fashioned word
And love dares you to care for
The people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our way of
Caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is our last dance
This is ourselves
Under pressure
Under pressure
Pressure
Pressing down on you, no man ask for
Under pressure that burns a building down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming, "Let me out!"
Tomorrow gets me higher
Pressure on people - people on streets
Chippin' around, kick my brains 'round the floor
These are the days - it never rains but it pours
People on streets - people on streets
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming, "Let me out!"
Tomorrow gets me higher, higher, higher...
Pressure on people - people on streets
Turned away from it all like a blind man
Sat on a fence but it don't work
Keep coming up with love but it's so slashed and torn
Why, why, why?
Love
Insanity laughs under pressure we're cracking
Can't we give ourselves one more chance?
Why can't we give love that one more chance?
Why can't we give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love?..
'Cause love's such an old-fashioned word
And love dares you to care for
The people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our way of
Caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is our last dance
This is ourselves
Under pressure
Under pressure
Pressure
I can relate to the following lines:
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming, "Let me out!"
So I can relate to these lines because I'm pressured and I'm sure some of you are but It's the time of you're life when people ask you "what do you want to be when you grow up?" and honestly we still don't know a whole lot about the world, I also can relate to the part "watching some good friends screaming "Let me out!". because I have had some really good friends make some unwise choices because of pressure and stress.
Chippin' around, kick my brains 'round the floor
These are the days - it never rains but it pours
These are the days - it never rains but it pours
I can also relate to these lines because sometimes I feel like I'm not where I supposed to be, i'm just out of it, mentally beating myself up. These are often the days where it is not raining but more of a downpour which gives me a more of a motivation to do nothing.
The last example I can relate to is
Insanity laughs under pressure we're cracking
Can't we give ourselves one more chance?
Can't we give ourselves one more chance?
I can relate to this because under pressure we crack and a part of us; the insanity loves seeing us struggle in a sense, but some days I don't know if it's worth it because I don't know if I should give myself another chance to recover.

Mercutio
Mercutio is the most memorable character in the play of Romeo and Juliet. Mercutio's involvement in scenes always contains a cunning, edgy presence to the play. Even though he was killed early on in the play he did many memorable things compared to other characters, his clever sense and wit gave him the ability to distract characters and steal attention in the scenes. Mercutio is a realest and his constant jokes, and jabs at both Romeo's Love and Tybalt's Confidence show both a humorous side but a shadowed opinion of true love and the power of fate being almost nonexistent. Mercutio's most memorable moments was Act 3 Scene 1; the Challenge against Tybalt Prince of the Cats that lead up to the pivotal moment of Mercutio's death. Also Act 1 Scene 4; The Queen Mab Speech.
The challenge between Mercutio and Tybalt is a memorable part in the play due to the fact that he makes a mockery out of Tybalt in front of his kinsman. In Act 3 Scene 1; Mercutio ridicules Tybalt both directly to him but also indirectly in scene 2 when speaking to Benvolio. The humorous taunts and sarcastic smack talk were sure to be remembered in the play. In this part of the scene Mercutio makes an impression on the crowd that he is a very bold and likable character, using his advantage of not being apart of the Montague or Capulet house. Act 3 Scene 1 is a memorable part the Mercutio because this is also the scene where his character comes to an end. Mercutio's clever replies, and thirst for violence distracts the audience from the challenge that Tybalt gives Romeo, this scene leads up to the pivotal moment of his death. This is a memorable scene in the play not only because of the at first friendly harrassment but because Mercutio's personality shines through the lines and actions of the play; His actions of fighting for Romeo show a fraternal love yet a disappointment for Romeo. As seen in Act 3 Scene 1:
Mercutio:
"Or I shall faint. A plague o' both your houses!
They have made worms' meat of me: I have it,
And soundly too. Your houses! "
This is hinting at the fact that he blames particular people for his death and not a bigger power like Fate.
Some other examples of his most memorable lines are:
Mercutio :
"And but one word with one of us? couple it withsomething; make it a word and a blow. "
shall use me hereafter, drybeat the rest of the
eight. Will you pluck your sword out of his pilcher
by the ears? make haste, lest mine be about your
ears ere it be out."
Mercutio:
"Good King of Cats, nothing but one of your nine
lives; that I mean to make bold withal, and as you"
Despite the fact that some may argue that Mercutio is not the most memorable character, the Queen Mab speech in Act 1 Scene 4 portrays a different opinion. The famous Queen Mab speech in Romeo and Juliet both shows a realistic and interesting side to Mercutio, a combination for a memorable scene involving a rather memorable character. The Queen Mab speech truly shows Mercutio's belief and an interesting point of view; although Mercutio is Romeo's friend he mocks the idea of Romeo's love and tells Romeo it is not fate, or a higher power but "Queen Mab". In the 1996 movie of Romeo and Juliet, the Queen Mab is portrayed as ecstasy, a drug that makes you hallucinate and feel sort of bubbly and very affectionate. This is also a representation of what Mercutio is actually trying to say in the speech, he is telling Romeo that Dreams are actually our own selves as human beings tricking us into what we want, that there is no such thing as signs of fate, and that a Dream is simply a figment of our highest desires and imagination. The hallucinations in the drugs represents the things Romeo see's in dreams and the dreams itself, and all the things he sees is a reflection of what he really wants. The affection you feel from the ecstasy are actually just teenage hormones, like it is when a person dreams of something they are sexually attracted to. There are some examples in the following lines of the Queen Mab speech:
Mercutio:
Through lovers' brains, and then they dream of love;
O'er courtiers' knees, that dream on court'sies straight,
O'er lawyers' fingers, who straight dream on fees,
O'er ladies o' lips, who straight on kisses dream,
Which oft the angry Mab with blisters plagues,
Because their breaths with sweetmeats tainted are: (80)
Sometime she gallops o'er a courtier's nose,
And then dreams he of smelling out a suit;
And sometime comes she with a tithe-pig's tail
Tickling a parson's nose as a' lies asleep,
Then dreams, he of another benefice:
"This is that very Mab
That plats the manes of horses in the night,
And bakes the elflocks in foul sluttish hairs,
Which once untangled, much misfortune bodes:
This is the hag, when maids lie on their backs,
That presses them and learns them first to bear,
Making them women of good carriage:
This is she--"
The challenge between Mercutio and Tybalt is a memorable part in the play due to the fact that he makes a mockery out of Tybalt in front of his kinsman. ears ere it be out."
Mercutio:
"Good King of Cats, nothing but one of your nine
lives; that I mean to make bold withal, and as you"
Although some people may argue and say that Mercutio is not the most memorable character in the play, and that he is not memorable because he is not a main character or involved in memorable scenes like The Balcony Scene in Act 2 Scene 2. Which makes more profit than the Queen Mab speech, turning the lines of the play into household decor, where as it is less likely to have Queen Mab Quotes in a house. The so called famous scene is the most memorable part of the Play and that Mercutio has no involvement due to the fact that Romeo and Juliet are talking to each other indirectly and directly. Using lines from the play
Romeo:
"But soft, what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east and Juliet is the sun!
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,
Who is already sick and pale with grief"
Juliet:
"O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo? "
Juliet:
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;"
Romeo:
"But soft, what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east and Juliet is the sun!
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,
Who is already sick and pale with grief"

Mercutio is a wild character who often has multiple mood changes; a character with a sharp wit, and humorous tone. Mercutio is a realest in many aspects and the his cunning words sting the people around him, especially young Romeo. These are the factors that make Mercutio the most memorable character in the play, he is not just a joker in the play used for humor relief but has a serious side to himself. Mercutio was the opposing force of fate, the rebelious character who chose not to believe in any of it. Mercutio may not be a main character and have died early on in the play, but he is the most memorable character in Romeo and Juliet.

Essay topics
I have chosen the topic below:
"D) Mercutio is often considered one of Shakespeare's best characters and yet he is killed quite early in this play. Discuss how the relationships Mercutio is in influence his behaviour/choices, and discuss WHY you think so many people (including me) find him interesting and pleasure to watch/read. What do you think Shakespeare would say about his character Mercutio? Would he like him? Would he think he was brave, honourable, immature, ignorant, or wise?"
I chose this topic because I felt everyone would do A or B, and this one really interested me. I think that I chose this because Mercutio is an interesting character, he's not in love or focused on love like most of the people. I also feel people find him interesting because he's a realist, and neither a Montague or Capulet. He's a crazy person who parties, and fights, doesn't believe in fate.
However I think I can dig deeper into the character of Mercutio and am interested to learn more about the connection between him and the audience.
The second topic I wanted to do was C.
C) Shakespeare often uses characters to summarize the play for the audience (who were often illiterate and inebriated) both at the beginning and the end of the play. Often these characters provide insight into what may be the author's personal position on the topic/theme of the play. Which character in Romeo and Juliet do you think best represents William Shakespeare's possible thoughts on love and relationships? Provide quotes and explanations of your choice, as well a connections to research about Shakespeare's life as a play writ and the complications that provided in sharing his opinions.

What is Love? Perspective of Lady Capulet
Lady Capulets Soliloquy on Love:
"I don't understand why Juliet is hesitant to wed Paris. I was younger than she, when i concieved her, and I turned out great. I did not lose anything but gain money, and power; I have the best parties and I have enough money to last myself a lifetime. I greatly appreciate my life filled with parties, and luxeries."
"So why does my daughter not want to wed such a handsome and wealthy man, Paris? Can she not see what fortune it will bring her and our family, she has nothing to lose exactly like me. He is handsome, and she is a beautiful gentlewoman just like I am. She would only make him complete. Doesn't Juliet want to live a divine, elegant life of Status and wealth, what more can she want?"
"Maybe she actually longs for true love... I wonder what would have happened if I was not married and beared juliet at such a young age. I never truly longed for love but now that I think of it, I'm not sure if I am truly happy with Mr. Capulet. I am happy that I have luxerious parties but what if I actually have a problem. Deep down all the drinking, partying and drugs are what I use to cover up my desire for true hapiness. I just want her to be happy, I wouldn't want her to end up like me but this is important to her father."
All this thinking is giving me a headache, I need some damn medicine. Where is my Nurse..."

Mid Term Reflection
For the Mid Term It is broken down into 4 parts and then I will acess myself a percentage.
For the first part it is based on attendance, general self regulation, being on task in class. I think for the most part my attendance is great, I'm always on time for class, and have only missed a 2 or 3 classes because of medical reasons, however when I miss a class I always try to get caught up on things! Here is a proof, the time I wasn't in class but had asked Mr. Neuf right after class what I had missed after looking on edmodo! This shows that even though I'm not at school I can still self regulate myself when it comes to school work.
for this portion i give myself a 23/25.
The next category is based off of assignment completion, From the 15 assignments to due, did I do them? Although there are about 10 posts on my blog, the other assignments were not to be done on the blog but on commenting on the class site, and also in google documents. I have completed all but one commenting assignments posted by Neuf, and also all the ones to do on blogs; although some aren't on my blog i still did them here is proof
for this I give myself a 24/25
The 3rd part is based off of the wuality of my assignments, have I done my best work? Put effort in? How does it compare with my class mates and how can it improve? With my assignments, I do try and and put effort in, and try anf do my best with each piece of work. Sometimes I don't know if I'm doing my best because English is a easy subject for me and I try pushing myself all the time, and would definitely like to change that, and also trying to structure my posts a bit more, getting more technical.
I think someone really smart in class Is Anu! and i'm going to compare her work with mine using the tattoo post. and sorry if you're reading this anu I don't want it to be creepy or anything.
Her post looks like this
I comend Anu on doing such a great job all the time! Now this is my post
For this assignment we both showed 2 pictures, and both posts took up 5 screen shots. I think she does great and it's surprising to see me do sorta as well as her because I think she's really smart! However I think hers is more structured so I may take points of for that. However I think my quality of work is great compared to some in the class. I give myself a 23/25
The last category is class contribution and how has my presence improved the learning of others. So in this category at the start of the course I would say I am doing horrible. but I have actually stepped out of my comfort zone and helped around! I have some proof:
Gaby and I made a comment together that helped people figure stuff out.
ok so I think I have definitely improved based on helping the class learn, and I have kept it up, however a part I lack in is commenting which NEEDS TO CHANGE. For this portion I give myself a 22/25.
Overall, if you add up each section the toal percentage is 92%. If you dont agree, comment below why because the opinion of others matters.
Chorus
While researching the chorus, I found it is used as a type of narration. It is usually a small group of people or person who comments on the main action in a dramatic tone. They usually do the prologue and epilogue.
this is the chorus:
"Two households, both alike in dignity
(In fair Verona, where we lay our scene),"
I translate this as : 2 families; The Capulets and Montagues, both similar in dignity. Dignity meaning the state or quality of being worthy of honor and respect, I found this on Google and also saw similar lines in Ryan A's Post!
Dignity also can mean a sense of pride in ones-self. So in this case both families think very highly of themselves. The part in brackets is telling you that the play/ story takes place in Verona, Italy.
" From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean."
I think this means a really old grudge, or rivalry between the families turns into a whole new kind of violence that it progressing in a bad way. And because it is a whole new level of resentment, they are getting people involved that aren't even a part of the grudge in the first place. (for example: Mercutio was neither a Montague or Capulet but found himself in the middle of the feud.)
"From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life,"
Decedents or Children from the two unfortunate families that are enemies, become lovers, and take their own life or commit suicide.
"Whose misadventured piteous overthrows
Doth with their death bury their parents' strife."
The unfortunate incident created a removal of power from both families (meaning both families had something taken away from them) Their death ended their parent's conflict.
"The fearful passage of their death-marked love
And the continuance of their parents' rage,"
The frightening process of their death due to love, and angry parents.
"Which, but their children’s end, naught could remove,
Is now the two hours' traffic of our stage—"
The anger of the parents can only be resolved by the death of their children, this will be the 2 hours you will watch on the stage.
"The which, if you with patient ears attend,
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend."
If you listen carefully and are patient, what we didn't say here we will work hard and explain the rest. ( meaning what ever they didn't say will be explained on the stage in the 2 hours you watch it.)

To a Stranger pt.4
In my opinion I think that the poet is talking to a stranger who he sees. No I don't think it's a random stranger picked from a crowd, I think it was a stranger that he met but and felt as if they were reincarnated from one person specific in his life, perhaps one of his lovers or anyone else in his life. But the connection and essence is so strong that he doesn't feel as if they were a stranger. I think this because when doing research he believed in reincarnation and also in the poem it reads
the first line leads me to believe that he could have felt the person was reincarnated or had very very similiar things. And the lines "we flit by eachother, fluid, and affectionate, chaste and mature" which means very natural and friendly, but also grown up, and not meeting in a sexual tense, because when you meet a stranger you don't immediately tell them "you remind me of someone i used to love" he hopes to see this presence that reminds of someone. This also tells me that the stranger he mat can not only be chaste and mature but also someone who is affectionate and fluid.
Another thing that makes me think he is taking about reincarnation is these lines:
In the lines above I think he's trying to say "I have to wait, and there will be no doubt that he will meet another person that reminds me of someone."
I think in the lines below he uses "he" or "she" because he's talking about being reminded of not just one specific person but many people. He and She is not definite and can be anyone. The spirit and essence from reincarnation isn't just one person, or a forbidden lover. I think this poet is talking to a stranger that reminds him of someone he once knew, and that this can be any stranger, and any person.
So in conclusion I don't think he is talking to a specific person, but can represent anyone and maybe everyone in his life. He is talking to someone most likely a stranger that reminds him so strongly of someone.

How is your heart pt.4
In my personal opinion I think the poet is better off being content than wanting more materialisticly, and relationship wise
Although you can argue that he should want more because he is a human, and you shouldn't be living like that, and that you should experience relationships.
You also need to keep in mind that there are more than just him who live a life like that, and he doesnt really care for relationships, because the ones that he's experienced (the relationship between him and his dad, and his dad and his mom's relationship.) have always ended badly.
A pro to being content is that he doesnt have to worry about people pretending to be his friend for fame and fortune... unless you count some of the prostitutes he was with.
Another Point people could argue is that shouldn't he want to be sober, and not be a drunk like his dad? Well to him maybe alchohol is a form of power, or a form of how he escapes the temptation of wanting more. He doesnt want to be like his dad.
You could also say that materialisticly he should own a house, car, or something like that to get him by. However money does not buy you happiness, and he doesn't want to be rich, and long for a life he doesnt have; like his father did. He saw the way his father strived for more and how his father acted out because of it. This is clear in the poem he wrote called "My Father"
the specific words "a man like that" as if he did not want to be associated with it. Also in the poem this stanza reads
"caught between my father and the bums" Both the bums and his dad wanted nothing more than to be rich, and he wanted nothing more, so he was caught between them. He didn't want to be so stuck in wanting something that he would act out like his dad or just stay on the streets like bums, and so he made his way getting drunk, waking up in dirty motel rooms, sleeping with prostitutes, and seeing his so called "ugly" self in the mirror was him saying I am not happy, not sad but it's better than wanting more and ending up like that.
In my opinion I think this poet is better off being content because he has a good reason for it; the poet is content based on his personal experience and that is wha he values more. He doesnt want a car, or a house, or a relationship, and his life, whether being an alchoholic or a weird dude who sleeps in ratty motels he is content because he doesnt want to end up like his father who ultimately failed and was hungry for power. To the poet I think he got power from the satisfaction.

Interim Reports
So this is my interim report and basically an update on how I am doing in class. In English so far we have had multiple assignments, like what its like to be a teenager, the tattoo assignment and the myers briggs test. These are all assignments that helped us get to know ourselves and make connections to several things, and that is what english is about. This year we are doing assigments using technology which boths allows us to connect with our peers and teacher but also is a big part of self regulating ourselves.
So if you asked me what grade I'm getting in English 10, I'm sorry mom and dad but I can't give one to you. Why? Well if I show you my assignments and blog, which also coordinate with Edmodo which helps me stay connected and on track with class I hope you'll believe I'm doing well. Part of self regulating is also assessing our progress, and right now I'd say I'm doing pretty good and see that I improve everytime. I'll show you and explain the process of my blog and Edmodo and you can see that I have been completing assignments, and have been doing well in this class, you can literally read my assignments and also how my teacher and peers think I have done on the assignment, even read my peers assignments. You can read the questions and assignments, and by doing that you should get a clear idea of how I'm doing. You can read my blog and see that the proof is in the pudding... or in this case my blog.

Symbolism in Tattoos/Tattoo Assignment
In class we have been talking about tattoos and what they mean, Neuf put a link up of several different tattoos and here is what I think they mean.
I think the one with the american flags are tattoos that people get when they have been in the army. There were also Celtic tattoos, Japanese tattoos, Traditional Tribe tattoos and more I think they are so cool but not sure if I would ever want something like that. I didn't know what the bird meant though, so maybe someone can help me with that....
Part 2 of our assignment was to create a symbolic and hypothetical tattoo for ourselves. This assignment to me is very engaging because I have always wanted a tattoo. Ironically by brother came home with one on Saturday.
This is his first, and he put the 4 other people in our households names. (My mom, dad, sister and I) And this gave me the idea of also incorperating family. Anyways back to the assignment; I have always wanted on that is about the size of the palm of my hand, so it could fit on the back of my neck. My reason to this is because I don't want a tattoo to show off, it's for me, and the only way you'll really ever see it is if I put my hair up. It's a way for myself to keep it hidden and to myself but also visible when i want to. I had no clue what I wanted to have for my tattoo, I knew I didn't want anything big or like a portrait. I also knew that I wanted the tattoo to have the following:
- represent me
-represent life
- represent where I come from
I didn't know how i was to incorporate all of this in one palm sized tattoo so i started brain storming.
The symbol i chose was a tree, and I chose a tree because it was said to hold high importance in tattoos and can mean very many different things, usually depicting regeneration, rejuvenation and life.
Some commons ones were
-The tree of life
- Ash tree
- cherry tree
- birch tree
-bodhi tree
-palm tree
- bonsai tree
But all of the ones I saw were huge and mainly tattooed on someones back. So I'm no artist and hopefully if I do get one like this it is drawb better and has had a little more time or detail put in to it. However I'm glad with the way it turned out!
For my tattoo I drew a tree inside a thick fading circle that leads all the way to the roots. The circle also helped with the idea of the circle of life. At the roots of the tree are 4 dates in roman numerals, which I thought was cool way to incorperate family. Those 4 dates attached to the roots are the birthdates of my Mom, Dad, Sister, and Brother. I put those there because I want to remember where I come from, and the most important people in my life. These are the people I grew up around and the ones raised me they are the roots to my tree/life. On the tree, There are 9 branches sprouting from the trunk, which symbolized me being born on the 9th month of the year, there are also 28 lights on the tree which represent that i was born on the 28th day of the month, and the lights were not only blue because it is the colour of my birthstone but also because thats the only colour besides white i liked. The fading circle around the tree gets darker at the top and clearer at the bottom which to me held the concept of being pure and almost care free at the start if your life, and then going through a rough time which is the darker part, and then slowly coming to a purer, simpler life style at the end. A reminder that everything gets better. This is the end result of the tattoo! #Itried

Extended Metaphor
So our assignment was to find an extended metaphor, and my original idea was to go about the X-Men Series, and talk about the topic of being mutant that plays throughout the series, and how it actually represents the real life problems of "outsiders" in reality, when the author wrote the comics.
However although I was passionate about that topic because I love the X-Men movies, I was literally listening to music and decided to switch my topic, and I have a greater passion for this certain topic. So I picked a song, and one that was written by my favourite artist; Ed Sheeran. The song is called Lego House.
Lego house is not literally a lego house what it means is "I'm gonna salvage whats left of what we had, and build back a relationship ( which is symbolized as a lego house) and if something happens we can start again as easy as lego.
it also has euphemism:
It's dark in a cold december
but I got you to keep me warm
Repetition:
it hapens throughout the song and the chorus!
The song isn't about a lego house but is actually about getting so lost in yourself that you have ruined things for others, and you want to build the "a lego house" which is actually the relationship and forgiveness.

Now, if you have never seen the video, it shows Rupert Grint (ron from harry potter) and him wanting to become Ed Sheeran. This continues on throughout the video, so when he says the lines
I'm gonna pick up the pieces
and build a lego house
and build a lego house
if things go wrong we can knock it down

Myers- Briggs Personality Test Results
So I have taken the test before this time, and it's in most of my bio's on social media profiles. I did it on a site called http://www.16personalities.com/ and my best friend from Winnipeg and I took the test one day while face timing because we are both fascinated by this stuff. My original result from the 16 personalities test was an INTP which means I am more introverted than extroverted, I use more intuition than senses, I usually put thinking over feeling and I perceive rather than judge. I was pretty sure my results would stay the same, because I haven't really changed since the last time I took it and this is truly who I am, when I took this test on the site Mr. Neufeld gave it was the same result.
I am an INTP which is described as an "Engineer" and kind of take pride because only 2.5% of people are INTP's and only 1%is female.
So in the sense that I am more Introverted than Extroverted I think that's right, I am very introverted and only comfortable around certain people, and keep a lot of things to myself. I have moments where I have so much confidence in me and I'm not afraid to attract attention to myself like when I am singing on stage or dancing, or when I'm really comfortable with a person, they say I'm weird and random. However people think i come across very confident and and extroverted, but in reality I am a introvert, I keep more to myself. I wish I was more extroverted and I would like to hang out with friends more often or go to parties but I always get awkward unless I am really really comfortable and dont have a lot to talk about.
Intuition over senses I think is a fair part of it too, because I do tend to go with gut feelings. The thinking over feeling is however always seemed debatable to me, and I can vouch for both sides. I do think things through before doing things, and think what is best for myself and others in that situation, but also what are possible outcomes, what has happened before, why it happened; I take all these factors into account. How ever I also have plenty of times where I have my "heart over head." basically situations where I do get emotional but hardly do. I also usually think to solve other peoples problems over mine.
I think the perceiving over judging is an accurate result too. I don't have particular schedules, and dont mind going off track. I don't like to judge right away either but instead like getting to know a person before making any judgments what so ever. In fact I hate when people make assumptions or jump to conclusions when they watch me do stuff or talk about other people. In my personal opinion I think observation is key, and that you give everyone an equal opportunity to get to know you until they have proven enough for myself to make an accurate judgement. Since I value perceiving and giving everyone and equal opportunity I think that's why i come off as an extrovert to everyone, and I think this is also why i have to say so much, the more I perceive the more I have to write/ talk about.
With being an INTP it comes with facts or usual findings about the INTP and reading through everything I strongly agreed with everything, and but some of the things in the last paragraph I felt were highly unaccurate like : unemotional, and acts without consulting other people. Because I do take emotions into consideration but not all the time and i ask other peoples opinions to take those factors into account. However being a rule breaker and knowing my dark side is accurate hahaha.
Also being placed in a category with such great and intellegent people like presidents, scientists and actors is really cool, and having brian from family guy is funny because He also has hes random moments of wanting to be wild. I found it cool that I have thought about many of the professions in the list of jobs like psychologist and musician!

What it's like to be a Teenager
Well, in my perspective and probably plenty of others being a teenager isn't really a walk in the park, but more like hiking the Grouse Grind everyday until you get into the swing of it. I say this because everyday is a challenge of getting to the top, and in this case I mean getting all your stuff done; whatever responsibilities or tasks you have. I'll continue more on the analogy after explaing a few things.
The first thing is School, now if everyday is like doing the grouse grind, school is like coming to realization that I'm actually doing something, a constant reminder of a challenge in my way. Telling me this will both be torture, but at least i'll accomplish something today.
Secondly, In my opinion I think my parents are old school, meaning a couple of hours of chores everyday , plenty of responsibilities, and getting all your homework done before leisure or hanging out with friends, or there are consequences like being grounded or not having my phone. Sure I get frustrated and wish they understood a bit more but I don't think they intend to be strict; they have the best intentions, so I learn to handle things in life and learn that every action has an outcome. However hanging out doesnt happen a lot especially on week days, so I turn to movies and food because let's be honest a lot of teens do, we always seem to be hungry. Theoretically speaking, In a way getting all of my chores done and doing homework is the about 2/3 of the way up the mountain, knowing I have gotten a part of my day over with only to find myself with more tasks to do. Which definitely can be the worst part of all of it because I just want to give up sometimes.
When you're finally done your chores and homework, you have hit the 3/3 or the top of the mountain. That great feeling of being at the top of the mountain, like you're invincible, is like the great feeling i get when I am with friends and have no worries in the world. It's when I'm done everything and get to do what I want at the end of the day, which probably will be chilling in my room doing nothing if not with friends.
The self doubt while climbing the mountain, is well me and the distractions I come face to face with. Let's just say technology can be both your best friend and worst enemy.
Lastly, the ride on the gondola down represents me at the end of the day resting in bed, relaxing and recovering. But with this comes a catch, do you ever go into deep thought on the way down looking at all the beautiful scenery? well thats me laying down and thinkin about all the problems I've come across in that day and what a mess my life is. It's me thinking about if he likes me, or if i weird him out, if I did good on that test, if I should have said or done something in that situation, did I look okay today, or even if I did all my homework.
In summary, being a teenager isn't easy, and will be very tiring but eventually you'll get used to it. Constantly feeling pressure on what you want to be, or what you should look like. To me tackling a day in the life of a teenager is like theoretically like climbing to the top of the grind. Whether you have your earphones in or have friends along the way. Passing each stage and seeing signs that remind you're only part way up, and still having somethings stuck in your head on the way back down and avoiding temptations so you can get things done.

The History of Me + English
So my name is Erlynn and I'm in Mr. Neuf's English 10 class, and this is my first post! This post is about my experience with english, and to be completely honest I don't love english class but I don't mind it. Growing up I had always found english a walk in the park, but I love challenging myself with writing poetry and reading books, I think it helps with building creativity and expressing myself! Being a singer I enjoy hearing lyrics and finding out a deeper meaning and I think that helps me with poetry. I also get drawn into reading books and find it hard to stop reading once you start.
Some of my favourite authors are James Dashner, Jenny Han, and J.K Rowling, and even though Shel Silverstien's poems are quite short I enjoy the simplicity and humour in them.
That's all about me for now I guess, til' next time.
