Final Portfolio Collection and Self Assesment

1) Self Regulation:
This semester and my self regulation had started off pretty well! This was until half way through our Novel Study unit did it start slowly unraveling, I am not completely un-self regulated it was more of the small things that threw me off. For example I would say coming in late started becoming a habit, I  will admit I did come in late either because I slept in late and basically jogged or fast walked to school or whenever I got a ride I always procrastinated in what time to leave the house. The second thing I would say is finishing my blog post but not turning it in right after. This happened quite a few times, and I would remember to finish so the idea and thoughts were still in my head, but i always forgot the last step and didn't submit anything. Things like keeping class discussions and comments appropriate stayed consist, and things like encouraging others and staying engaged and open minded with my peers. I will admit I have caught myself slacking whether it was scrolling through twitter or trivia crack, and I will say that it did come back to bite me in the butt. When It did i set a small reminder and got myself back on track. When I did submit my things, I was very self regulated and went back and fixed things my peers kindly critiqued.

Above on the left is a screen shot of my critiques, and the right screenshot  in the blue writing is all the changes.
In this picture above it says the man from the south post was due the 20th, on the right it says I officially published it on the 22nd. (second from top) i wrote everything except for the denouement he day it was assigned I put it off until we got a reminder in class and then submitted it then even though it was one thing I left out. In the right picture it also shoes that my mark on my essays have improved from the Mercutio /Romeo and Juliet essay to the "Who Killed Wellington" essay. This means i was self regulated read the critiques and improved on the next post.
Overall in Self regulation for this whole semester I would give myself a 29% out of 33%
(p.s I AM SO SORRY THIS WAS LATE THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED AGAIN, AND THE TIME STAMP IS LATE BECAUSE I WAS MAKING CORRECTIONS TO GRAMMAR.)

2) Learning prescribed outcomes.
On this topic, I think I have done well with keeping up to grade 10 standards.

In the "Who Killed Wellington" Essay I made connections between the prior knowledge of the Hounds of Baskerville Clues provided, and connecting them with the inference of who killed Wellington. This shows the connections of making and extending thinking with previous information, and also explaining the relationship between the clue and the inference.
Here is another example of when I related something personal to my writing, showing that I can extend Ideas that I have experienced with pieces of writing, and assignments. This is an example of when I made a personal connection to the song "Under pressure" by Queen.

For writing and representing In one of my earlier writing pieces I talked about being a teenager and how difficult it was, I talked about a day in the life of a teenager as if it was the grouse grind, and used an extended metaphor or a huge allusion throughout the whole piece. This helped me personalize what I was saying, and helped me describe the experience in an imaginative way, also helping me use representations of things using metaphors. Here is an example of my writing.

It was hard to find me referencing to pieces of research, and literature considering the fact that I didn't really know how to until later on. However I went back and In my post of "How is a heart pt 4" I referenced a different poem written by the poet Charles Bukowski, to back up my side of the argument. By reading a different source and applying it to the main persuasive argument it helped me learn more. Beneath is evidence of me finding the separate poem, and referencing it in my writing.

Overall in this topic of prescribed learning outcomes for this year I would give myself a 31% out of 33%

3) Contribution to the learning environment. Over all this year I would say I kept up fairly well with contributing to the class, and helping myself and peers becoming better learners, and expanding our Zone of Proximal Development. I have contributed to the class, by not only commenting on posts from Edmodo, but also posts of my peers personal blogs. Here are three examples of my Contribution to the class environment.

This is a comment made by Gaby and I when sharing the computers one day in the Library. In the comments many people were confused and thought that Romeo had been super positive about love, but Gaby and I talked about it and came together with a comment that helped change the perspective of our peers, and things they misinterpreted.

This is a comment I had made on on of my Peer's blogs, and I had also gave him praise but also critique because asking more questions, helps people think about thinks to a better extent.
In this next screen shot it is Mr. Neuf giving me some critique back but also telling me that some people in our class have benefited by my writing. I was very proud because even though I did not directly write anything to anyone else, and I was only focused on bettering my writing from my last essay I still helped contribute to the class in some way!
In the category overall I think I would give myself a 31%.
So in all categories the calculation would be 29 +31 +31 = 91 + (bonus mark for being awesome) so depending on whether you want to give me a mark for being awesome it  would be a 91%-92%
